Kenya Tourism Board cancels Magical Kenya Travel Expo 2020

The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has today announced the cancellation of this year’s Magical Kenya travel Expo (MKTE).


The reason behind the cancellation is because of the Coronavirus Pandemic that hit the whole world hard.


The Expo was scheduled to take place from 7th  to 9th  October 2020 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).


‘’ Due to the escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic around the world, the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) would like to inform you that the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), which was to be held from 7 – 9 October 2020, has been cancelled. An alternative date will be communicated” read a statement sent to ChimpReports.


It further stated that the Kenya Tourism Board has carefully monitored the global health crisis related to COVID-19 and their top priority is the health and safety of everyone involved in MKTE.


“We appreciate all the exhibitors, hosted buyers, media, partners, and stakeholders who have continued to support MKTE. Stay safe. We look forward to welcoming visitors back to Magical Kenya when the time is right” It concluded.


This is not the first travel expo to be canceled in the world as the very first after the pandemic was the ITB Berlin canceled on 28th February, ITB Berlin is a leading world travel show in the world.


Other shows that were cancelled are; World Underwater dive and travel show, Philadelphia Travel and Adventure show, Boston Global Travel show and many others.
